Hi! Sorry I dissappeared for a bit. I was hoping to post with pictures, but my computer is SO old and slow that it is a huge pain in the but to get pictures from my D60 (pictures sizes are huge) onto my ancient computer.
I've been riding a lot lately and I LOVE IT! On Thursday, Rebecca and I did a HILLY ride around Lake Samish. I swear, there are NO flat secions on this ride, its either going up or down. Pretty sure there is more up than down. : ) It was a 25 miles loop and I accidentally reset the timer on my cateye, so I don't know our exact time. Part of this ride I'll be riding for the Padden triathlon (!).
Yesterday, Friday, was kind of my rest day. I still went to the gym and did some upper body lifting and ran 2.75 miles on their *NEW* treadmills. They are so nice compared to the old clunkers they used to have. Didn't want to do anything too crazy because I got up early this morning for yet another bike ride!
Rebecca and I are going to set another personal record for distance on the bike this morning - 60 miles! I'm going to see if we can add on a few more miles and just make it a nice round 100K! A metric century! We're planning on leaving at 8am and probably won't get back until after 12:00pm.
Yesterday, I stocked up on a ton of goodies for biking! I got 3 Shot Blocks, 3 Hammer Gels, 1 Cytomax, 1 waterbottle holder, 1 waterbottle and a pair of bum bike gloves. I really need to learn how to eat on these longs rides. Who knows how many calories I'll be burning?! The hardest part for me is drinking enough water...so I purchased an additional water bottle and holder. Hopefully having two on the bike will make me want to drink more.
