Work was LOOONG today, as usual. No matter how busy I am, the clock just doesn't move! I had two things to look forward to during my day: one, lunch with work friends and two, a wonderful swim.
My work friends and I went out for Thai food for lunch, yum! It was so nice to get away from the office and chat with the fun girls that I work with. I didn't want eat anything heavy, so I just got a side salad with peanut sauce dressing and an order of fresh rolls - exactly what I was craving. However, I got hungry again 2 hours later. To fuel up for my swim at 4:30, I ate some oatmeal at 2:30.
Got to the pool with a *NEW* swim workout. Just a little different than what I have been doing, but at the end I was super duper tired. It went a little something like this:
300 warmup
4 x 60 with 30 seconds rest
4 x 60 with 15 seconds rest
2 x 60 with 10 seconds rest (these were super quick turnarounds!)
200 kick
200 pull
150 swim
1450 yards total
Wowza, this was a long swim for me and my arms were screaming at the end. I know I'm going be just fine for a 400 meter swim in the Padden Tri in June, if I can do a swim like this now. I still have 2 months to swim more and get BETTER!
I had planned to run after the swim, but ended up stopping by my friend Candice's parents house to hang out for a bit. It was so nice to just relax and chat and have a fabulous glass of wine (Maybe a glass and a half). The wine totally nixed my plans of running, but I accepted that and was okay. I can run in the morning, no biggie.
