Craving running again

Howdy! After running the Bellingham Bay Half Marathon last September I strained my calf, putting me out of running for a bit. Then the winter came and I was not motivated to run. Starting to run again has been frusterating and hard. How could I have run 13.1 miles in September and I could hardly complete 3 miles in January?!

I started running inside on the dredmill and got comfortable on it and my body started to slowly get back into the groove of running. Then I took stuff outside as the weather got better, but the transistion was difficult and I really had to work at getting used to ourdoor running. I used a run/walk method to get used to running outside again and slowly but surely, it worked. I'm a 3-4 mile at a time runner, and now I can comfortably run that distance again.

I'm happy to say that I'm craving running again! This hasn't happened since training for the half last summer and it is a WONDERFUL feeling! Well, except when I'm sitting at my desk and I can't run... I can't stop thinking about seeing how far I can go on my next run, or if I can pick up my pace a bit. This has made me ponder doing a half marathon this year, which I had crossed off my list after I decided to do more triathlons. Maybe the Seattle half in November? We'll just have to see if I can keep this running up!

Do you crave on type of exercise?
