I'm trying to spice up the blog a little more and Blogger just added *new* templates, so I'm experimenting. How do you like this one? I think it may be a tad busy.
I am tapering a little this week in preparation for tomorrow's long bike ride, Flying Wheels! I'm still undecided on what distance I'll be riding, but I hope to at least complete 70 miles. I'm a little anxious because there is going to be A LOT of people doing this ride. Since is it just outside of Seattle, it'll draw hundreds more people than the little Skagit Spring Classic I rode in May. But that will also be the fun of it - riding with tons of other people that love cycling just as much as I do. I'll be sure to take some photos so I can share the fun!
So for tapering, I have just toned down my usual workouts. I took Thursday off of biking and swam (1,400 yards in 40 minutes) instead because it is less strenuous on my legs. Today, if I do anything I might go on a 5K run, but nothing more. I want my legs to feel FRESH for tomorrow and be able to attack the hills!
I'm really looking forward to this weekend (when do I not though?). Besides the bike ride, I'm hanging out with my family and celebrating my Dad's birthday. And BONUS that the weather is supposed to be warm and sunny. Have a happy Friday, hope your weekend comes quickly!
