Today turned into a really nice day. I'm looking outside right now to mostly clear skies which are still SO light for 9pm. Happy Solstice! Weather like this lifts my mood so well. Maybe that in combination of my vitamin D supplement will make this summer extra happy. : )
After work today I hit the pool and did a 25 minute swim. I had planned longer, but I felt done after 25 minutes, so I stopped. I'm not sure how far I swam though, kinda lost count. I then made my merry way up to Lake Padden for a run. Why did I not swim at Padden? I'm not sure. I don't think my head was quite clear after work.
Anyway, I ran the 2.6 mile loop around the lake in 24:15. That is 1 minute faster than I did it yesterday. I'm not sure where this speed came from, but that is the fastest I've ran Padden in a LONG time. I kept glancing down at my Garmin and seeing a sub 9 minute pace (which rarely happens) and I just kept going. I was VERY happy when I finished - getting that faster time did take some work. I was sweatin' fo sho! I kinda wish I kept running for another .5 miles so I could have seen what my 5K pace was...oh well...next time.
I've scheduled Thursday AND Friday as total rest days and I'm going to take them seriously. In fact, Thursday night I'm going to see Toy Story 3 because I'll have the night FREE and the Toy Story movies are my favorite Pixar films - can't wait!
Seen any good movies lately? I'm up for suggestions of what to watch after I finish 24...tear...I love you Jack Bauer....
