Yo! I’m back in Bellingham now after a wonderful week at the lake. It’s amazing how one week can FLY by. Now it’s back to reality…
I was able to get in 17 miles of running during the week, but no swimming. I felt that was a good amount of running for being on vacation, but I’m ready to get some serious sweating in this week. I got back to the Y today and ran 6 miles and did some lifting. I’m sure I’ll feel the weights tomorrow morning cause I haven’t lifted in about a week and a half.
I can’t go too hard with training this week because I have the Danskin Triathlon on Sunday. I’m not gonna lie, I think I’m the least prepared for this race both physically and mentally than the others I’ve done. I think it’s due to being on vacation last week and being a little burnt out from training for multi-sport events. I really want to concentrate on my running for the rest of the year, but I definitely don’t want to loose everything I gained in training over the last 8 months. So, I’m planning to start pushing more time into the running bucket, but still bike and swim to keep my endurance/speed up.
Although I have to go back to work in the morning and face a really full inbox, I do have something to look forward to: Aaron comes home on Wednesday! He has been gone since the end of April and I can’t wait to see him! I’ve missed him a lot.
And I’ll leave you with some photos from my vacation. I’ll be posting some in posts throughout the week. Enjoy.
First night at the lake – BBQ with the fam
Someone thought it’d be a good idea if everyone took Patron shots…I opted to be the photographer instead.
Rainy day. We only had one rainy day. Thank goodness.
And what do we do when it rains? Drink wine!
Be back tomorrow!
