Running with my fisherman

Yeah right! Aaron does NOT run. Period.

After a nice 10.5 hour day at work, I needed to clear my brain of all things "Sales Conference" and sweat. But I also wanted to spend time with Aaron. Toss up. Why not run with Aaron?! I asked him if he would ride his bike while I ran, so it'd be a very leisure ride for him and I'd get the motivation of "running" with someone.

I did 7 miles with Aaron motivating me with mantras like "dig deep Megan." I don't think I could have done the whole 7 miles without him - thanks Aaron! I even kept a sub 9 minute pace the whole way! Woot.

I have a Sales Conference at work to attend the next two days and they are really cramping my workout style. The conference itself is from 7am to 5pm and then we have a dinner event afterwords until 8pm. I can't not workout, especially with my race this weekend, so I'm sucking it up and getting up at 'o dark thirty to get a sweat session in. I know it'll make me feel a lot better getting up and getting it out of the way instead of not working out at all.

How do you juggle work/life/workouts when time is tight?

  3. wooooooooot to getting up early and getting that run in! i was doing the same today. when life gets tight in terms of time i whip out my agenda book and meticulously plan everything. i also give up sleep but i don't think that's likely a good idea :)

  4. Great job on sweating out the workouts during those early morning hours! I hate doing that but sometimes they are just required. Just remember it won't last forever!

  5. It feels so good to have it done for the day. When I wait for the afternoon I always come up with excuses not to go.

  6. Way to get him to join you!

I struggle to juggle workouts/training when work is crazy busy, but I sometimes make time. Hard, but necessary, especially when I remind myself how easy it will clear my mind...even if it's only 20-30 minutes.

  7. Oh man, that conference is giving you long days! Working out is so hard when a normal routine is interrupted. It sounds like you're dedicated though, and this conference is only temporary, so you'll get through it! :)
