3 Things Thursday

Yes. 4 day weekend for me. It’s supposed to be a cold one with a chance of snow on Sunday or Monday. Mt. Baker is opening on Saturday! Without further adeau, here are my 3 things:

1. I ran 5.2 miles before work yesterday because I knew I was going to Happy Hour after work, so I still wanted to get a sweat sesh in. I think it’s really key to look at your schedule and MAKE workouts happen. Plan them in like any other required activity. You’ll never regret working out.

2. Since I didn’t have to work today, I got to take a spin class at 12:15. It. Was. So. Hard. It was taught by my boyfriend’s aunt and she is a very strong swimmer/runner/cyclist, so her classes are brutal. But you feel a sense of “I just got worked” after and it feels good.

A couple strange observations while at the Y today… A guy in the spin class was seriously grunting toward the end when things were getting tough. The grunting got faster as the instructor told us to go faster. Let me just say, it didn’t sound like this guy was in spin class…. THEN, when I was lifting weights, there was a guy laying on a bench with a towel over his face with a 25lb dumbbell resting on his MOUTH! I think I accidentally starred for a bit too long, I just didn’t get it. After a bit, he moved it to on top of his eyes. This CAN’T be good for someone’s face, can it? Oh, the Y….

3. It is freakishly cold in the PNW this week. As I type this my hands are becoming numb because I’m cheap and don’t want to pay too much for heat. I’ve been sleeping in long johns, sweats, snowboard socks, long sleeved shirt, hoodie with hood on and 2 extra blankets on top of my down comforter. Burrrr. I think I’m gonna break down and turn the heat on because currently it is 43 degrees and will get colder over the weekend with Monday being a nasty 29 degrees. Yikes.

  5. Totally agree about making workouts happen. If you don't, it's too easy to let them get away.
It sounds cold! It's only in the 60s here and everyone is shivering.
