Yesterday I was going to re-run the Padden Mudfest course with my friend Kirsten, but after quickly missing a turn on the trail, we were slightly clueless to where we were. This route was way muddier than last weekend’s course, so there was a lot of walking up steep, muddy hills. We decided that we actually wanted to RUN, not walk up hills, so we cut back out to the main lake loop and ran it.
The main loop has a nice variety of flats, and rolling hills, so it still is a challenge. We kept up a nice sub 9:00 pace on that loop whereas we had a slow 12:00 pace on the muddy, hilly back trails. We totaled 4.6 miles and I probably could have ran another loop, but we called it quits.
Today I really wanted to go for a bike ride outside, but the weather is just blah and I am a wus. A little wet and a little cold and padded bike pants just didn’t sound awesome this morning. I’m realizing more and more that I am a fair-weather biker. Need a trainer oh so bad right now. So, I ran instead! I heart running these days more than ever! I did 4.29 miles in 37:52, 8:50 pace!
I am sweaty, I promise. The picture doesn’t do my sweatiness justice.
Perfect running weather! I’m waiting for the Y to open so I can go swim and lift too. Or spin and lift to knock off some of those bike miles I promised myself I’d do…
Isn't it funny how perfect running weather = crappy biking weather? Well done getting those miles in!!
ReplyDeleteYou are right in that weather does not look life fun to ride in. I have a trainer and for me it is like the treadmill but on days like what you have or the light no longer exists it is a big plus to have.
ReplyDeleteWeek in Review just posted. www.baha703ironman.com
yay for perfect running weather! it's been gorgeous the past two days here as well. makes me want to run even more than i do now hahah :)
ReplyDeleteand no apologies about sweatyness. it makes you hardcore :)
Great run Miss Speedy!
ReplyDeleteI am totally in love with trail running now, now that I have found some actually trails finally.
ReplyDeleteNice pace on your run! Cold and rainy is speedy weather.
unless you are getting paid, i see no reason to bike in the rain. exceptions can be made for race days and critical training days related to races.
ReplyDeleterunning is a whole 'nother matter. i like to run in the rain and find every puddle...
hey girlie!
ReplyDeleteohhh washington, I miss that damp crisp weather for running! ya ya for a feel great run! those are the best!
I hope you have a great week ahead of you!
xoxo!
