So the adventures of traveling Megan have yet to settle down. Since I started my job in Seattle in November, I have been staying with my sister and brother-in-law in Mill Creek during the week, then going to Bellingham on the weekends. I have a lease on a house in Bellingham until October, so while I try to find a subletter, I'm trying to find free places to stay near Seattle.
My sister and brother-in-law have been SO great letting me stay and invade their family space for almost 4 months - THANK YOU! But I'd like to give them a break from me, so I'm moving to Kirkland this weekend to take care of my Grandma's house while she is at another residence. Living in Kirkland will take 16 miles off my commute AND if I want, I can bike into work a get a nice 40 mile round trip ride in each day! I'll probably wait until it gets lighter in the mornings to do that.
Another bonus about living in Kirkland is that it's right next to Redmond, which is deemed the bicycling capital of the Northwest AND the other half of Team Sweat (Rebecca) lives there, so we can bike our little hearts out.
For all you locals, no I'm not worried about the 520 toll starting in the Spring. My work may be reimbursing my expenses when I do drive...yay!
I would love to be able to commute into work but I live just out of the boundary of a reasonable commute. But I do have a great area to ride in during my lunch hour. That makes it all worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! We lived in Juanita when we first got married. Love that area.
