Monday: The Monday Night Run! Met Sarah for a couple miles before we joined the group then did almost 4 with the group. Ended with 6.24 at a 8:12 pace. Monday's are supposed to be easy runs, but that group is fast!
Tuesday: Spin on the trainer for 1 hour. BORING, but got it done. Swim ?? yards with Megan. Didn't have a workout planned and didn't keep track of yardage. Megan is an incredible swimmer and helped me with my stroke, told me what I'm doing wrong, and suggested drills to help fix those wrong-doings. I haven't timed any sets in awhile, but did a 100 (1:41) and a 50 (:45) which is pretty awesome for me right now. Megan also taught me how to do breast stroke, which I've never been able to get the timing of kicking and stroking, but kinda got it by the end of the swim. Stroke sucks, but got the timing!
Wednesday: Track day! Found a track at a nearby high school that was completely empty, well until it was lunch time and swarms of high schoolers poured out of the doors onto the track and stood in lane 1... Anyway, 5x800 was on the schedule. Wasn't sure what kind of pace I was going to run the 800s, so I went out and ran what felt hard, but not "barf" hard. 1 mile warm up, 5x800 (paces ranging from 7:05-7:14), 1 mile cool down. I bet I could get them all down to 7 flat pretty soon if I keep this "run fast" thing going.
Swam 2k after work with the annoying after work pool crowd. I don't know why I let people bother me so much, I should be happy I got in my workout.
Thursday: Ran 4.8 easy miles and did Fly Wheel Power Hour.
Friday: 7 easy-ish miles during lunch. The weather was lovely along Lake Washington.
Saturday: Love 'em or Leave 'em Valentines 5k! Oiselle birds took over Green Lake and everyone had great races. I wanted to PR, but I had a bunch of pre-race nerves and even in the first half mile, I was still very nervous. Uh, it's just a 5k! The world isn't ending if I don't PR! Anyway, Megan and I ran the entire thing together and kept each other motivated. I PR'd by :48 seconds coming in at 23:16, but mostly proud of the fact that I negative split it with these mile splits: 7:35, 7:27, 7:20, 6:55 for the last .1. Did a 1 mile warm up/cool down, which got me 5 for the day. Was supposed to do 10, but just wasn't feeling it and decided to let my body rest.
