TCM Training - Week 5

A little late, but here's what my training looked like February 17-23.

Sunday: REST DAY. Oh my goodness did I need that rest day. Don't judge, but it had been over 2 weeks since I took a total day off. I had a few really easy days in there, but nothing compares to a full day off. Feet up on the couch. Watching Hulu. All Day.

Monday: Day off work! 8 easy miles were on the schedule, so I headed to Discovery Park and ran the loop trail (2.8 miles) 3 times. That park is so beautiful. You truly feel far from the city when running the trails and get some scenic views of Puget Sound. What I like about trail running is that you're forced to slow down. I ran 8.3 miles with a 9:30 average and don't think I could have gone any faster.

Right after the run, I saw a Tweet that Arielle was riding, so I decided to join in. May have not been the best decision I've made as my legs were screaming the entire time. Shut up legs! I couldn't keep up with Arielle for the life of me and was so very happy when we finished the 35 miles.

Tuesday: Easy 4 miler. Easy 2,350 in the pool.

Wednesday: Track party! It really was a party with 3 of us running. Did a mile warm up, 6x800 (3:38, 3:33, 3:31, 3:32, 3:33, 3:29). My legs haven't recovered from my last long run plus my run/bike on Monday, so I didn't know what to expect at the track. Happy that they are relatively close in pace, expect the first one.

Thursday: Travel day. Headed to Phoenix for Ragnar Del Sol. Got up at 2:30am for a 5:15 flight. But still managed to get in 6.75 miles in the afternoon sun in Tempe. I wore shorts and a tshirt and was hot!

Friday + Saturday: nothing! I was too busy with working Ragnar Del Sol and was too tired to even do anything, so I didn't.

Beautiful day to finish a relay.

In the middle of nowhere Arizona

 Weekly Totals:
Run: 24 miles
Bike: 35 miles
Swim: 2,350 yards

  1. I can't believe you ran 8 miles and then biked 35 miles. That is amazing and impressive. I can't wait to wear a t-shirt and shorts outside. I am so over this winter!
